Originally from Oxford, England, Clare Schoenheimer is a full-time resident of Montauk, NY working as an artist and photographer. As one of the most versatile artists on the East End of Long Island, she works in a variety of media, transforming empty spaces and blank surfaces into hand-painted works of art.
Clare's art includes hand-painted floor cloths (area rugs), murals, Tromp l'oeil, sculpture, and photography. Her designs are vivid and beautiful, often treading the fine line between the humorous and the macabre.
As a long-standing member of the Crazy Monkey Gallery in Amagansett, NY Clare won Best in Show at the 4th Annual Art Competition (February 2009) with her floor cloth titled Luna

In addition, Clare also works at The Artist's Wedding Studio in East Hampton, NY as Creative Associate, producing hand-painted silk wedding canopies, marriage certificates, and torah covers.
